Possibly one of the Kimberleys most famous long lost secrets ...
There are few people today who would know that the Kimberleys once hosted for a number of years some of the worlds most famous chefs ... all brought together with a simple mission and the most amazing vision from a visionary and indeed famous man. To create a world class fusion of cuisines in the harsh remote outback of Western Australia ... a gastronomic oasis.
Whilst this may sound like a fairy tale ... if you knew Lord Alistair McAlpine and you knew what he achieved in and for Western Australia ... you would know nothing would stand in the way of his wonderful visions. As preposterous as this particular vision sounded ... 'Lord Mac' made it happen and if you were lucky enough to be a guest of Cable Beach Club back then ... well you know exactly what we are talking about here.

So the story goes ... 'Lord Mac' was dining at the iconically famous 'Le Gavroche' in London (the UKs first ever 3 Michelin Star restaurant) when he asked the modern day godfathers of French cuisine Michel & Albert Roux to hand select their most accomplished chefs to carry out Lord Macs audacious vision. And so came to Broome, Western Australia some of the now worlds most famous chefs.
The rest is now unfortunately long lost history ... but the memories of those days are cherished by all who were part of those early days of Cable Beach Club including some of us at id8.life
So what better way to pay homage to this incredible history then to bring these world famous chefs 'back to the Kimberleys' for the Eclipse and to recreate the past with a gastronomic extravaganza ... complemented hopefully by some amazing local Kimberley based chefs we have been following for some time now as well as indigenous foods too.
